If your UHF antenna cable is equipped with a PL259 type connector, you may use two adapters from Radio Shack to adapt it to the threaded F connector on your TV or VCR.

The two adapters are: 278‑255 for $1.29  and 278‑208  for $1.79.

Whether you use a converter, a cable ready set or a cable ready VCR, it must be able to tune the CATV channel 58.  Cable channel 58 is also known as channel VV.

Please note that we are NOT talking about UHF channel 58.

Low cost amplified converters are also available from several manufacturers. PC Electronics in Arcadia, CA (818) 447-4565 makes a good converter.  Their prices start at about $49.

The Space Shuttle TV coverage takes place from just prior to launch continuously through the end of the mission.

The transmitter site is at Sweat Mountain (corner of Fulton, Cherokee, and Cobb Counties) and the estimated Effective Radiated Power is 1050 watts.

Coverage is continuous audio and video on 427.250 Mhz Fast Scan Amateur Television.
